How do you remove too much antifreeze from a car radiator?
My wife accidently poured too much pre-mixed antifreeze into her car radiator. It is practically overfilled. Is there a way of removing the antifreeze without a siphon?

- just put the cap back on and drive, dont worry it will leak out itself eventually. wont harm your engine
- There should be a pressure release valve that is readily accesible. Just unscrew that when the car is COOL and get a catch pan ready underneath. If there is too much, it will come out there.
- Turkey Baster
- should be a petcock on the bottom of the radiator, usually on the drivers side that you can open and drain some out if you wish.
- A "pre-mix" is 50 percent water and 50 percent antifreeze. Therefore it's the perfect concentration of antifreeze for your vehicle and there's really no way to "put too much" of it into the radiator and cooling system. The radiator should normally be overflowing with coolant and the reservoir shows you the "cold fill" level to fill it to when the engine's cold. An over full reservoir will correct itself. So just keep driving!
- Whatever is left over will just drain out. Do not worry. Do NOT, however, do this with oil. Overfilling oil can lead to some serious and expensive problems.
- are you talking about the radiator , or the radiator recovery tank.
